Three out, two in

Jerome Wright, Mathew Taylor, and Alex Mortimer look like they will be the only absentees on tomorrow’s trip to West Yorkshire but Rob Nugent and Simon Carden may be back in the starting line up.

FC United take on Silsden in the Quarter Finals of the North West Counties D-Zine (Contractors) Ltd Challenge Cup tomorrow but they will be without Wright, who is cup tied having played in Round Two of the competition for former club Maine Road FC, whilst full backs Taylor and Mortimer are still not fully fit according to manager Karl Marginson.

Despite suffering a broken nose at Bacup Borough just under two weeks ago, Nugent played and scored in Tuesday’s friendly match at Warrington Town, so he should be available for selection.

Marginson said: "Matty Taylor is nearly fit. He’s on a course of antibiotics and will hopefully be ready for the Curzon game on Wednesday. Alex could do with another 90 minutes in the Reserves before we give him a run out in the first team."??

Last season’s top scorer, Carden has been restricted to cameo appearances from the bench of late, but Margy says he has been impressed by the way he’s responded, so he may be in line for a recall.

Silsden AFC versus FC United of Manchester in the Quarter Finals of the League Challenge Cup is this Saturday 17 February at Cougar Park Stadium. It’s pay on the gate with prices at £7 for adults, £3 concessions and kick off is at 3pm.
