FCUM Juniors Bingo Day a Success

A Full House At The Juniors Bingo

Sunday 25th February saw the first ever FC United Juniors Bingo Fun Day at the Irish Club in Chorlton, where a fantastic £730.00 was raised in aid of the Junior Supporters Group, the FC United Development Fund and the junior’s chosen charity, Manchester Kids.
Family and friends of the juniors filled the venue and were joined by first team manager, Karl Marginson along with members of the team, representatives of the FC United board and the Clubs’ General Manager Andy Walsh and Club Secretary Lindsey Robertson. A nice surprise for the junior supporters was to see some of the Under 18’s team join in with the fun straight after their cup game with Marine ‘A’ that afternoon.

The juniors requested that they do all the jobs on the day so with some of the adult volunteers help, they ran the show completely. From selling the tickets for each game and calling the numbers, to checking the winners tickets and making sure the prizes got to the winners table. To give the games that special touch, the juniors came up with their very own bingo rhymes for the numbers and also replaced the boring old "House"?? calls with "Handball !"??, "Penalty !"?? and "Goal !"??

Bingo prizes for the day were donated from all over including many of the supporters. A signed football from the team, Karl Marginsons’ very own initialled training top and a signed pair of football boots donated by Rob Nugent. Other items included music vouchers donated from 127 Club partner Orwelco (Barrow) Ltd, a voucher to spend on the FC United stall and the star prize of a training session by the FC United manager Karl Marginson and staff kindly arranged by the Club for up to twelve lucky juniors.

The juniors wish to pass on their heartfelt thanks to all those who helped with the event and to everyone who turned up on the day. They are already looking forward to the next one with great excitement.
