Two first half goals from the winger Sandro Da Costa, means FC United are scheduled to face Macclesfield town in the next round of the cup. The game was played in the club’s main stadium and welcomed 387 fans to watch the cup fixture.

The game got off to a slow start with both sides being careless in possession, FC United then seemed to adapt to their environment quicker than their counterparts bagging two before the half. Sandro da Costa scored both goals for United, both towards the latter end of the first half. The young winger looked promising all game, bombing down the left side causing the West Didsbury defence trouble.

A few players for United showed class and maturity during the game, number 5 Jack Bennett moved into a centre back despite his natural position being midfield. Watching the number 5, he seemed comfortable in defence able to make some important tackles as well showing some agility and dribbling out from the back.

West Didsbury and Chorlton began the game very slow, the squad seemed to lack chemistry and couldn’t really get into any build up play leading to chances. The right back for West Didsbury, Kirby Diosana however seemed bright among the other dismal performances, creating passes and showing off his agile and precise dribbling.

Tom Conroy, manager for FC United of Manchester said following the game:
“The FA Youth Cup is something we look forwards to, we started off quite slow it took us a while to get into it. I don’t know if it was because where they were playing, you know a big stadium, but once they got going, they controlled the game.”

“I think the one that stood out the most was Jack Bennett the centre half, because he’s not a centre half, he’s a midfielder. We’ve had a few injuries, so he’s come in and done us a job there tonight. Sandro as well he got the two goals. “
